I'm Alex Cucchi, a documentary editor and producer with over a decade of experience working in long-form and short-form nonfiction media.
I've worked with Ken Burns and Florentine Films on projects including The Vietnam War, Country Music, Benjamin Franklin, and The American Buffalo. Most recently, I completed photo restoration work on a three-part series on the life of Henry David Thoreau produced by Ewers Brothers Productions.
That work shaped how I think about process, structure, pacing and attention to detail. I'm drawn to projects that reward care and engagement, and where the editing and construction matter as much as the material itself.
Alongside documentary work, I collaborate with nonprofits, institutions, and small organizations on a range of video projects, including branded and client-driven work. Whether I'm working on a documentary or a commissioned piece, I always bring the same editorial approach to every project.

Longview Films is the studio through which I do this work.
